All very different colorways....all beautiful! |
| Susan Bates of
Kentucky finished her quilt circa January 2002 and sent me a picture!
Aren't the colors just fantastic?! I think the recipients are very
lucky to get such a lovely gift and how appropriate! Here's what she
wrote about it: "I made it as a wedding gift for my daughter and new
son-in-law. They live in NY, and I'm in Kentucky. Since most of our
communication is done via the internet, and my son-in-law is a Visual Basic
programmer, I thought it was very appropriate for them. They love it."
Betty Reynolds & friends made a block exchange quilt using Log On Cabin block from the Patchpieces Byte by Byte patterns. This is Betty's finished quilt below.
Isn't this great?! Below are
detail shots of one of the blocks
From Betty: "The quilt contains 30 logon cabin blocks, 20 of which came from the swap and 10 of which I made myself, a row of doll blocks I swapped with friends from Quilt Camp in the Pines 2000 (friends who get together every year in July), and is surrounded by a highway and then by 2" signature squares from various internet swaps. Each logon cabin is signed by the person who made it or whose house it represents. I added one extra telephone pole to each row so that the houses would not line up neatly like a 1950's housing subdivision. The whole quilt will be embellished with buttons for doorknobs, birds, squirrels, and cats."
She wrote: "This pic is of the top only - I do have the finished quilt, but no pic yet. My border, I found I didn't have quite enough fabric to do the whole border, so I took from the Point and Click arrows to create energy going around the whole quilt. This whole thing was made from my scrap basket."
Jan Munson, Texas Jan Munson was the first to complete her quilt top. Note the red bug fabric in Jan's quilt. She thought a computer theme quilt should have bugs in it! Scroll down for close ups of some of the blocks.
