Here are some real Byte by Byte quilts finished and in progress...
All very different colorways....all beautiful!
Susan Bates of Kentucky finished her quilt circa January 2002 and sent me a picture!  Aren't the colors just fantastic?!  I think the recipients are very lucky to get such a lovely gift and how appropriate!  Here's what she wrote about it:  "I made it as a wedding gift for my daughter and new son-in-law.  They live in NY, and I'm in Kentucky. Since most of our communication is done via the internet, and my son-in-law is a Visual Basic programmer, I thought it was very appropriate for them.  They love it."

Betty Reynolds & friends made a block exchange quilt using Log On Cabin block from the Patchpieces Byte by Byte patterns.  This is Betty's finished quilt below.

Isn't this great?!  Below are detail shots of one of the blocks
and one of the border showing the signature squares.

From Betty:  "The quilt contains 30 logon cabin blocks, 20 of which came from the swap and 10 of which I made myself, a row of doll blocks I swapped with friends from Quilt Camp in the Pines 2000 (friends who get together every year in July), and is surrounded by a highway and then by 2" signature squares from various internet swaps.  Each logon cabin is signed by the person who made it or whose house it represents.  I added one extra telephone pole to each row so that the houses would not line up neatly like a 1950's housing subdivision.  The whole quilt will be embellished with buttons for doorknobs, birds, squirrels, and cats."

April 2001:  Carol Mitchell finished her quilt!  Congratulations, Carol!

She wrote: "This pic is of the top only - I do have the finished quilt, but no pic yet. My border, I found I didn't have quite enough fabric to do the whole border, so I took from the Point and Click arrows to create energy going around the whole quilt. This whole thing was made from my scrap basket."

Jan Munson, Texas
Jan Munson was the first to complete her quilt top.  Note the red bug fabric in Jan's quilt.  She thought a computer theme quilt should have bugs in it!  Scroll down for close ups of some of the blocks.

Row 2 added -- Nancy Coleman, Switzerland
Nancy is an American living in Vuibroye, Switzerland, near Lausanne. Serious quilter since October 1997. She's using Moda's Folk Art Wedding fabrics.

 Donna Anderson, Tennessee
" I am in Dyersburg, Tennessee we have a small group of about ten active members. This quilt will be a row by row. I picked my colors and now it will be passed to another person to do the next row..I will not get it back until several rows are done . If the group is big enough one does not get theirs back until it is finished. I will be working on someone else's next month..."
Below are three pictures Donna sent me of the groups quilts.

Diane Cook, Tennessee

Bonnie Skinner, Tennessee

Debbie Moore, Tennessee

Diane Cook's quilt, row by Donna Anderson
Donna was very creative and added butterflies to the baskets.  Below is the whole row, which she sent me in two parts.  Isn't it great?!

Jan Munson had just as much fun making one block from each row and put them together in a small quilt. You can't see it very well in the picture on the right, but there's a little mouse in the center square of the Point & Click block and a cat in the triangle on the left side of the block.  And take a look at the message on the tag she embroidered on her "Add to Basket"..."Your Shopping Cart is Full". Also take notice of the "Refresh" patch she added.
