Woven Stars
More experiments with 60º blocks in EQ4

In the April 2000 issue of Quilters Newsletter Magazine there was an article by Coleen Harvey on using border prints to make a Woven Star block. Susan Parker took up the challenge to create her own version in EQ4.  I couldn't resist, so I did one too!

These are just pictures...if you want the project file click on the e-mail link below the picture and write to and ask the creator for the project file.  If you have a Woven Star you'd like to add to this page please let me know!

Susan Parker (San Jose, CA) created her Woven Star by drawing 1/4 of the block and set it in a Variable Point quilt layout.

I drew my Woven Star (which I have dubbed "Radioactive Star") using the arc tool and partitioning the segments to make the block.

June's beautiful woven star has eight point and has lots of three dimentional possibilities.

Barb was even more adventurous and tried three different quilt settings for her Woven Star blocks.  Looks super with that shaded blue palette, Barb!

1. Drawn as one whole block set in
Horizontal Quilt Layout.
2. Drawn as a square block with 2 points that meet in the middle (look close) and set in the Baby Block Quilt Layout.
3. Set in the Variable Point Quilt layout. Barb used one block like in #2 and a second block divided diagonally. Ask her how she got them to match up so well!!!
